About The Bookmark Club. Who are we and what do we do? Good question. Well... you've found a book club which is unlike most others ... please note the following: First of all and most importantly... this club is wholeheartedly dedicated to the love of Non-fiction books. If you love reading and discussing non-fiction books, you will be among friends here! Secondly... our format differs from the normal book club format. Rather than having an assigned book title each month, we have an assigned …
Let's eat and drink at great venues, meet new friends who live nearby and enrich our minds at the same time! This group has a local focus and is designed for people living in the vicinity of Hampton Court/Teddington. We'll read one book a month and then meet up at a regular time to discuss it. We'll meet at an interesting, new local restaurant, pub or café, or at people's homes if they're willing to make it festive with a few snacks and drinks! This is NOT a Book Club for blokes who work in IT to get overexcited about Lasers & Aliens. Seriously. It's not. It's a Book club to read & discuss character-led SF novels for grown-ups at the more literate end of Science Fiction spectrum. We read anything from Atwood to Zelazny that hel …
… The Post-Apocalyptic Book Club welcomes singles and non-singles and they sometimes do sci-fi film trips. There is a big overlap of members with all these groups and all the organisers know each other and go to each others' events and sometimes our groups join up, both inadvertently and deliberately. So please don't try and sneak into the Geek Chic group just to go to our events if you're not single. It's not fair on people joining to meet other singles. Much appreciated.
There are no upcoming Meetups.
